Frequently Asked Questions

How are we different from other adaptive martial arts programs?

Experience, Skill and Equipment.  A Million Ways Adaptive Martial Arts is not just about teaching martial arts to children with special needs.  It’s about supporting the development of confidence, fine motor, social and emotional skills ALL children need to grow and thrive.  Our Certified Instructors and Assistants have 10 years of experience assisting special needs people with martial arts training.  We have the knowledge, skill, and resources to excite and support both your child and your family’s physical and developmental needs.

Training Philosophy

We don’t know what our students are capable of, but we want to find out.  Martial Arts combined with expert instruction is the perfect complement to occupational, developmental, social and psychological training for people of all ages and abilities.  We work with parents and other professionals to set and reach our students’ confidence, memorization, social interaction, and physical ability goals.

What does it Cost?

We are dedicated to providing A Million Ways Adaptive Martial Arts specialized training to every special needs person who needs our services.  We will work with you to create a private/small group plan that works for you.  Ask us how to get started . . . .

Can my special needs child advance in rank and participate in martial arts tournaments?

YES!  Moving forward in rank is an essential cornerstone to building student confidence, and to developing an understanding of the importance of setting and reaching goals.  Participating in tournaments frequently leads to exponential personal growth and self-esteem.  A Million Ways Adaptive Martial Arts offers rank advancement opportunities every 2 months, and works with the American Taekwondo Association to offer special needs tournament experience on a regional, national, and international level.

Our ultimate goal is to see our students reach their full potential.  In that spirit, we have created opportunities for students to enter Certified Instructor Training.  Qualified students may eventually learn to be Assistant Instructors, and ultimately Fully Certified Martial Arts Instructors with the American Taekwondo Association.  The sky is the limit.

Must my child only participate in private and small group training?  Or, is mainstreaming an option?

A Million Ways Adaptive Martial Arts will support your child in the training environment that is most appropriate to meet individual needs.  It’s a feeling consideration between parents and instructors.  Mainstreaming does not always mean “better” when it comes to ANY student; it may truly benefit some while being very detrimental to others.  Private, small group, mainstreaming or a combination of these, we will identify what works best for each students developmental needs.

Do you offer martial arts training for our whole family?

YES!  In fact, we highly recommend that at least 1 member of your family engage in martial arts training through our regular program.  The family that kicks together sticks together.  One additional family member in our regular program provides an awesome means of A Million Ways Adaptive Martial Arts works directly with Gavin Espinosa’s ATA Martial Arts in Stevenson Ranch.  Let’s discuss a Family Program with discount pricing that works for you.
